There are numerous first hand accounts of aerial combat by many of America’s first Aces of the Second World War. Foreword by Captain Charley Davis Mott, U.S. Navy, Retired and former Flight Leader of the Second Pursuit Squadron, A.V.G. Mott was the first American aviator shot down and captured in WWII, having been shot down January 8, 1942, and held P.O.W. until the end of the war.
